Garland Yurkovsky, 37, of Mount Vernon, was busted Friday after members of the Narcotics and Organized Crime squad received a tip about a marijuana delivery by a woman driving a black Infiniti, said Capt. Richard Conklin.

Officers staked out the area on Henry Street and watched as the woman pulled into a parking lot and got out of the vehicle, carrying a black backpack. As officers watched, they could see the outline of a gun through her tightly-fitted jacket, Conklin said.

Officers advanced on the woman and stopped her after seeing the gun, which turned out to be a realistic-looking pellet gun, Conklin added.

Police then searched her backpack and found more than 300 grams of marijuana in 12 baggies and two additional baggies with 32 grams of pot, along with an "asp" or collapsible baton, Conklin said.

Yurkovsky seemed to want to deny any connection to the vehicle, so officers searched the vehicle using a K-9 dog but did not find any additional drugs. They did discover that the vehicle had been stolen from New York City a few months earlier, Conklin said.

She was arrested and charged with possession of drugs, the sale of a controlled substance, larceny, carrying a facsimile firearm, carrying a dangerous weapon and driving while under suspension, police said.

She was held in lieu of a $25,000 bond.
